Sir,

We beg to inform you that on the 31st January we paid into your account at Messrs Drummonds £ 120 : being the half year’s interest on £ 6000 due from Mr. Payne the 1 st January.

We presume that the letter of Credit for £ 60, the quarter’s interest remitted to you the 14th November, safely reached your hands. It may perhaps be a safer plan, however, to pay the money, as it is received, into Drummonds ; if you approve of this mode of remittance.

Perhaps as we are, at this season of the year, going through our accounts, you will allow us to mention that we have a little account debited to you, amounting to £15 :6 :2, for collecting your interest during the few last years ; and for copies which we furnisched, at your desire, of your marriage settlement, and for notaries charges : which, if you see no objection we will deduct from the next half year’s interest.

We have the honor to be, Sir, with great respect, your very faithful servants

Capron
