Savile Place, London
24 January 1839

Sir,

I have to apologize to you for not replying earlier to your letter of the 5th. November, requesting that the interest of your trustees mortgage might be paid to your account at Mes. Drummonds ; but being in the country when your letter reached my hands I could only give directions that the money due to you might be immediatly paid as you desired which was done on the 9th november.

On looking into the accounts on my retrun to Town, I find that only one half year (and not two as your letter mentions) was due to you at that period, as you will perceive from the statement which I beg to enclose of the several payments of interest which we have made since the date of the original security.

The half year which became due on the 1st January instant has been this day placed to your credit at Mes. Drummonds.

I take the liberty of transcribing some little accounts standing to your debit in the books of our Firm commencing in 1834 and probably you will be so good as to give directions for their being discharged.

I have the honor to be Sir your very faithful obediant servant

Capron
